Fool’s Gold 100/50 Mile MTB

22 01 2009

The Fool’s Gold 100 is Georgia’s first and only 100 mile mountain bike race, brought to you by the race director of the largest and most fun 24 hour mountain bike race in the Southeast, the BURN 24 Hour Challenge! Fool’s Gold 100 will be the 6th race of the 2009 National Ultra Endurance Mountain Bike Race Series. Expect lots of singletrack with a few gravel road grunts. Be prepared to ride hard..and drink a few brews. With the low entry great schwag, all of the essential amenities (i.e. optional lodging with meals & beer) all weekend, and cash payout for the Open Men/Womens class in the 100 miler, we think this one will be on your race calendar for good! The guys from Sweetwater Brewing Co. will again be giving a case of Sweetwater 420 to the first racer to cross the finish line at 4:20pm…this could be a good sprint to watch.

…and, last but certainly not least…the guys from Terrapin Beer will, once again, be sponsoring the Turtle Award, a case of Terrapin brew for the last person to finish the 50 miler and the 100 miler. DFL never sounded so good,

22 01 2009

Bushwhack Adventures is taking the Impossible Panther AR to new lengths – 24 hours! Adventure racers have enjoyed the challenges and scenery of the Uwharrie Lakes Region. With 24 hours on the clock, Bushwhack will be able to introduce racers to even more of this beautiful area. For racers not quite ready for a 24 hour event, there will be at least one shorter course option available, maybe two. The course designers are still hard at work laying out another great course, so final details are not available yet.

2009 Swamp Fox 12HR AR- SC

22 01 2009

Check out the link for more information, I’ve raced this one for the past two years and it has quickly become one of my favorites…perhaps it’s the low swamp lands of SC or re-tracing the steps of Patriot and Soldier Francis Marion or just so early in the year it gets you on track for the rest of the season…
