After taking off two years to concentrate on race director duties, Bruce was able to race again, teaming up with two fellow Law Enforcement Officers; Dale Long and Rory Avant from S.C to form Palmetto-Tarheels. The trio was able to complete the entire bike leg, logging 33 miles and obtained all 18 points to gain a 50 pt. rogaine bonus. After being the first racers in all categories to finish the bike and swim leg, they transitioned to the trekking/orienteering section to begin nearly 3.5 hours of foot travel. The team was able to pick-up 267 points to end the day with a total of 317 which locked them into 6th place overall, second among the open 3 person teams and first place in the Public Safety team category.

We need to double check a couple of scores but the preliminary results are posted below. If you have any questions or notice any discrepancies, please email me at briant1362@yahoo.com. Thanks to all park officials, volunteers, sponsors and racers who made it a great event. Special thanks goes to Herb’s Creative Photography for taking some great shots of the event.
